YGG TV: How to Succeed as a Content Creator in the Metaverse

In this episode of YGG TV, Web3 gaming content creator and former YGG Scholar VMiguel Gonzales and YGG Community Marketing Manager John Sedano discuss how to succeed as a content creator.

 Dubbed “the ESPN of web3 gaming,” YGG TV is the latest online show produced by Yield Guild Games (YGG) where community members can tune in to learn more about blockchain gaming, discover the latest games, and stay up to date on activities in the web3 space. John Sedano, YGG’s Community Marketing Manager, spearheads the production of YGG TV episodes, which are released every Thursday at 9 p.m. SGT.

In this episode, John Sedano speaks to VMiguel Gonzales (also known as VMG), a web3 gaming content creator and former YGG Scholar, about how to grow and succeed as an influencer in the Metaverse. They discuss the importance of listening to the needs of viewers, how to adapt to ever-changing market conditions and why educational content will always be relevant. VMiguel started as a streamer and began playing Axie Infinity thanks to his viewers’ suggestions. He then signed up as a YGG Scholar, finding success in the Metaverse through streaming and creating content about web3 games.

From scholar to superstar! Gaming content creator VMG gives us tips on his success in the metaverse!

Sedano (3:58): When you started with YGG, you were basically at zero followers. From that point, what was your strategy like? “I'm in a new community, I have to make a name for myself here. I had to prove myself.” But now you're at 100k followers. What were the first steps in growing your community?

VMG (4:16): When I started, I had one goal in mind, and that was to help new players. I wanted to coach them. And that was my only goal. As I was teaching a few people, they kept on requesting to see me stream, play for hours and create my VMG page. That was what led me to start my journey with YGG. It helped me a lot in growing my community, and my goal was to educate my viewers. That's how I kept growing.

Sedano (4:53): That's good. Even with what's happening right now that we are in a bear market. And how do you deal with people in the community who you think need your help in learning more about what's really happening?

VMG (5:15): If we look at the history of crypto, the price action has always been like a roller coaster. Like life’s ups and downs, crypto is no exception. What I want to tell my viewers with regards to this is, as gamers, we have to enjoy the game first. Everything else that comes after that will be a bonus. Regardless of the price of tokens, you are a winner if you enjoy the game you are playing.

Sedano (5:49): Did the bear market affect the way you created content in any way? Do you have a different style or strategy with the videos that you put out compared to before and why?

VMG (6:06): Actually, no matter what the market is like, I was always focusing on the entertainment side of gaming. But during the bear market, I started transitioning more to educational videos. And then I started doing strategy-related videos, especially in my streams. I think it was a good way of transitioning during the bear market.

Sedano (6:41): And, you know, educational content does go a long way. It doesn't necessarily have to fit into trends. Education will always be there, and at any point in time, people will still go back to these videos if they need help or more information.
