YGG Community Roundup - December 2021
A recap of our biggest achievements and most exciting announcements in December 2021.
Happy New Year, everyone! The holiday season gave everyone a chance to rest, but YGG took no breaks from onboarding even more people to the Metaverse and welcoming them to our community. We have reached a major milestone, hitting a total of 10,000 Axie Infinity scholars across 10 countries to cap off 2021.
Meanwhile, the Axie Bootcamp and Managers Cup continued successfully through the month, and we forged many new partnerships and had several AMAs.
Sadly, December also brought Typhoon Odette, which devastated the central and southern regions of the Philippines just before Christmas. Coming together for those in need, the YGG community assisted in relief efforts and so far raised US$1.4 million in donations.

Axie Infinity
YGG has hit a major milestone, reaching 10,000 Axie Infinity scholars worldwide just before New Year’s Day. What an amazing way to end the year!
Axie Bootcamp
Axie Bootcamp is still streaming on Mondays and Wednesdays at 9 p.m. SGT. You can watch the streams in English or Tagalog and discover some useful tips and tricks for playing Axie. As always, a huge thank you to our guests who have taken time out of their schedules to share their insights and advice!

Illuvium partnered with YGG for an exclusive giveaway to kick off their new guild NFT airdrop series. They gave away 95 Water Buffalo NFTs, with one lucky winner receiving a special holographic version. The giveaway was open to anyone who was a member of their Discord by 7:00 UTC on December 9.

YGG Emoji Contest
On December 1, we announced our very first emoji contest. Details about the contest can be found in the Discord.
As YGG is currently focusing on typhoon relief efforts, the deadline has been extended and the announcement of the winner has been postponed.
New Team Addition
Welcome, @ArcherPerezz! Archer began his career in 2013 and entered the esports scene in 2018 with Mineski. He has since garnered multiple titles for the biggest projects as a shoutcaster, host and production head. Hailing from @TrulyTopTier, an arrow that never misses. Let’s all welcome @ArcherPerezz!
YGG’s Typhoon Odette Relief Efforts
It is amazing to see how our community has come together to support those affected by Typhoon Odette, which hit the Philippines in December, just before Christmas.
We also extend our thanks to those who participated in Archer Perezz’s auction to raise funds for YGG Pilipinas’ relief efforts. We have so far reached over 1,600 households with our #cryptoayuda program and have enough community funds to reach at least 3,000 more. Thank you to everyone for pitching in.
