Web3 Metaversity: Empowering the Community Through Knowledge Sharing

In this episode of YGG TV, YGG PH Country Manager Luis Buenaventura talks about Web3 Metaversity, an educational program by YGG and Nas Academy designed to upskill individuals in web3.

YGG TV, dubbed “the ESPN of Web3 gaming,” is the latest online show produced by Yield Guild Games (YGG) where community members can tune in to learn more about blockchain gaming, discover the latest games, and stay up to date on activities in the Web3 space. John Sedano, YGG’s Community Marketing Manager, spearheads the production of YGG TV episodes, which are released every Thursday at 9 p.m. SGT.

In this episode, YGG Pilipinas Country Manager Luis Buenaventura talks about Web3 Metaversity, a web3 educational program by YGG and Nas Academy that provides a supportive environment where like-minded individuals can upskill together. Luis also explains how the program accelerates the growth of web3 by producing skilled graduates who become valuable members of the community and help build the industry.

Luis (0:38): The entire space benefits from knowledge sharing as it can accelerate the growth and development of web3 by improving the productivity of the entire community.

So, what is YGG’s Web3 Metaversity? First, this is a partnership between YGG and Nas Academy, the makers of Nas Daily. All of the members of the Web3 Metaversity community are able to access free educational content that can help them learn new skills that will get them through their web3 journey. Our goal with our students is for them to eventually be able to forge their own careers within web3 and the Metaverse.

What do learners get with Web3 Metaversity? They have an awesome Discord server where the students, instructors and coaches can all interact together in a laid-back fashion. There's also an extensive video library where the learners can just learn at their own pace. And of course, we have a lot of external educational resources that have been curated by the YGG and the Nas Academy team.

Most excitingly, there are weekly Zoom sessions with the Metaversity instructors, which include folks like YGG co-founder Gabby Dizon, Head of Esports Mike Ovecka, and myself. During these sessions, the students can interact directly with their instructors and ask them all of the hard questions that they need answers to.

Having a solid foundation of knowledge better equips a person in doing a job for any organization. Creating a program that produces high-quality and skilled participants helps organizations do better, which in turn helps the industry perform better. This initiative not only gives additional value to the YGG community, but to the web3 industry as a whole.
