Szabi (12:52): Do you think the development time in blockchain games will be much shorter than traditional games? I mean, they also have a lot of pedigree, right?
Gabby (13:03): Not necessarily. I don't think that development times will be shorter. The big difference is that community is such a big aspect of Web3 and blockchain games, so the developers are exposing their games to their community a lot earlier.
You see a lot of console games, for example, that have a two- to three-year development timeline. You see MMOs take four or five years to make. You flip that around in blockchain games and maybe you start with an NFT drop, or maybe you start with a demo. You start with something that your community can own and get excited about.
You're building with your community very early and helping them understand what the game is about, letting them shape it, in a way, where the game is going. So if you look at the total development time, it will probably take just as long, but the community has been involved much early on in Web3.
