Endgame Podcast: Thriving in an AI World Requires Human Adaptability
YGG co-founder Gabby Dizon joined Serotonin founder Amanda Cassatt on the inaugural episode of Endgame to talk about how YGG is preparing its community to adapt and succeed in the age of AI.
Through educational programs like Metaversity and the decentralized work opportunities of its Future of Work vertical, YGG is equipping its community to master skills in AI so they can embrace it and earn from it rather than fear it. Projections indicate that 92 million roles will be displaced by emerging technologies such as AI, but 170 million more new jobs will be created. To thrive in this future economy, workers must upskill to take on roles that require uniquely human strengths — like critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and creativity — even as AI is integrated into more aspects of work.
On the inaugural episode of the Endgame Podcast, YGG co-founder Gabby Dizon joined host Serotonin founder Amanda Cassatt to discuss YGG’s efforts to prepare its community for this new frontier. They also talked about the value of human creativity in a world where AI can automate nearly any task and how guilds help people transition into small business owners as AI reshapes work.
The following is an excerpt from their conversation, where Gabby shares why YGG has put so much focus on upskilling its community members. In an increasingly AI-dominated job market, bite-sized educational programs like Metaversity give people the space to get ahead on their own terms.

Endgame Podcast: Guilds, Gaming, and AI with YGG’s Gabby Dizon
Gabby (41:13): In the age of AI, I'm definitely a humanist. Even when we started YGG, one of the core principles and questions we asked was, as technology accelerates, especially with AI, what are humans going to do? This is probably the question that keeps me up the most at night, and it’s why I think that what we're building at YGG will be relevant in the next decade plus.
I want to solve that problem. For example, in the next two years, most of the jobs in the BPO industry — which is responsible for 10% of the Philippines’ GDP — will go away. What are these people going to do? This is why we're building guild platforms. This is why we have educational programs like Metaversity teaching people how to prompt.
Amanda (42:05): What is Metaversity?
Gabby (42:07): Metaversity is our educational program where we have very short, snackable learning programs people can do on Discord. They may do it 30 minutes at a time, and they learn things without having to go for full university degrees. People can do it in their spare time. Once they learn these skills, we're actually able to put them as part of the YGG network where they can do tasks that need their skills and get paid for them.
Amanda (42:33): So you're preparing people for the future based on the skills that they have today, knowing that things are about to change.
Gabby (42:39): You don't want to lock them in a four-year degree. You want to prepare them for a world where their tasks might be valuable to a network, and next week, someone can pay them for different tasks. You might not be full-time employed, but you're continuing to learn and gain skills that other people are willing to pay for. That's where we generally think the world is headed, and that's why we're building what we are building.
